KAMERS is known as SA’s Treasure trove of handcrafted creativity, Kamersvol is “not into the perfectly made or the mass produced – it’s about high end true craft, slightly imperfect, timeless and originally designed”.
Which is a platform of like minded individuals who incorporate everything ive aspired to be in merging my fine art and design with a green and sustainable aspect into my work.
A year ago I went to both Kamers in Castle of Good Hope and the Stellenbosch venues, I decided that the following year I would be showcasing my work. I had resigned from my job to take time to experience a new city, climb in the magical Western Cape and focus 100% on my art and other creative passions that had taken a back seat.
Im so happy to share with you that after all that I made it into Kamersvol 2017 Stellenbosch show! I am officially a KAMERS maker, and ive been super busy making.
I will be showcasing my PVC lamps ive spent the past 2 years designing and working on, along with my candle light range… and something different. My drawings, because I beleive in always working on what you think you bad at, my drawing skills was never something I made much point of doing. Finally I found the inspiration and time to do so. I also wanted there to be more process shown, so from inspiration to drawing to final product it comes full circle.
Heres a sneak peak of what to expect at this years show, which I will let you know the details closer to the time. If you cant wait you can have a look at the Kamers website
Kamersvol takes place on the lovely Anura vineyards in Stellenbosch. 30 October – 5 November 2017
